1 · Dates and fees
English and a weekly academic theme in the mornings, activities and excursions in the afternoons, and full boarding. Arrive on a Wednesday, depart on a Tuesday.
Fees are per student. Each week has its own theme, so students staying two or more weeks study a different subject each week.
2 · The school
Oswestry School sits in beautiful grounds on the edge of the market town of Oswestry, close to the Welsh border, with nationally recognised boarding facilities.
All students live on site in the school’s three boarding houses. Many rooms are en-suite and most are built for two to share, with some larger dormitories that younger pupils often ask for. Each house has a resident House Parent and Assistant, and group leaders stay in a separate building on the school site.
A dedicated pastoral team provides round-the-clock care, gets to know every pupil and celebrates their achievements. The school has a strong track record of summer pupils moving on into the main school.

3 · The summer programme
Lessons are taught by qualified Oswestry School teachers and are built around engagement, participation and confidence. Every student has a short online meeting with the course director before arrival, to assess their English and find out a little about them. All SEND profiles can be catered for.
Each week has its own curricular theme: art, culture and literature; government and leadership; or science and economics.
Carefully tailored English lessons suit all abilities. Classes have a maximum of fourteen students, with teaching assistants on hand, so pupils can challenge themselves and make strong progress in a warm and nurturing environment.
Students who already have excellent English take extra lessons in the enhanced curriculum, covering science, economics, art, culture, literature, government and leadership. Senior students also join a careers and university preparation course: writing a personal statement, preparing for interview, and exploring the skills needed for top universities and courses in law, medicine, engineering, business and computer science.
Courses run Wednesday to Tuesday. Trips change each week – see the programme overview below. The programme may be subject to change.

Each week begins with a formal Welcome Dinner with speeches and a toast.
