2 · The school

A truly Rugbeian summer

Rugby School in Warwickshire is one of England’s best-known boarding schools and has hosted summer school for international students for many years. Its Short Courses go beyond the usual summer school, with content-rich courses taught by specialist teachers and expert tutors.

Students are based in School House, one of the oldest buildings at the heart of the campus. They enjoy classroom learning with excellent teachers, high-level sports coaching on the school’s magnificent indoor and outdoor facilities, and cultural enrichment through visits and excursions.

Just as important is the character education: confidence, curiosity and team spirit, in an atmosphere of tolerance, respect and intellectual curiosity. Students who go on to study in the UK get a true taste of life at a top boarding school.

3 · The summer programme

Choose your stream

Every stream follows the same pattern: intensive tuition in the mornings, then field trips, co-curricular activities, projects and sport in the afternoons. In the evenings and on excursions, all streams come together as one international group.

Career and Subject Stream students also receive university application coaching, with personal statement workshops and mock interviews. Every student leaves with a certificate and a letter of recommendation.

EAL: Explore Britain

An English course for A1–B1 learners, built around one question: “What have I discovered about Britain?” Rather than grammar alone, students learn to notice, describe, compare and communicate, using experiences inside and outside the classroom.

By the end, students feel more confident talking about their time in Britain, comparing it with life at home, and sharing the people, places and activities that made their visit memorable. The course includes 36 hours of English with professional EAL teachers.
