2 · The school

An exceptional summer for your daughter

For over 40 years, Heathfield has run summer English courses for international students. Accredited by the British Council since 1987, it is the only accredited all-girls summer school in England. Its July 2026 inspection was outstanding, with 13 areas of strength, placing it in the top 5% of accredited summer schools in the UK.

The school sits in 36 acres of tree-lined grounds in Ascot, Berkshire, 30 minutes from Heathrow and an hour from central London, with Windsor on the doorstep.

Girls are taught by experienced EFL teachers and activity staff, alongside professional sports and arts coaches. British girls on the school’s UK Holiday Camp join many activities and events, so students make friends from the UK as well as around the world.

3 · The summer programme

Three ways to spend the summer

At Heathfield, English is not just studied in the classroom: it is the language girls use every day to make friends, take part in activities and share ideas. Lessons are communicative and task-based, balancing fluency and accuracy across speaking, listening, reading and writing.

Every student takes a written and oral placement test on her first Sunday, and classes are formed by level and age. At the end of the course her teacher writes an individual report for her parents, and she receives a certificate.

Founders: build your own company

In small mixed teams of British and international girls, students take an idea from first spark to finished brand. They research their market, develop a product, create a brand identity, build a live website, produce marketing materials and film a promotional video at Sky Studios. The week ends with a formal pitch on stage to the whole school and a panel of real professionals.

The course includes a creative product workshop and a London excursion with a graduation celebration.

Students take home
  • A live website for their company
  • A professional launch video filmed at Sky Studios
  • Brand assets, merchandise and business cards
  • A branded satchel and founder’s portfolio
  • A Certificate in AI and Digital Entrepreneurship
